Our sorting policy

How are brands sorted into categories?

The brands are sorted based on all the available information that we're able to gather at the time, this information may come from their social media, their websites, WIKIPEDIA, and other similar sites. We then ultimately form our own opinion and categorize the brand based on what we find, sometimes we may disagree the way the brand categorizes itself (e.g it may call itself streetwear but it's actually luxury because it's way too expensive), we ultimately use common sense and the information available to hopefully place the brand in the most suitable category.

What if some brands overlap in categories?

We understand some brands build multiple aspects and some designs blur the lines of categories. While taking that into consideration, we'll try out best to categorize the brand based on these descriptions. If there's undeniably proven that there's more than one aspect in the brand, then we will include the brand in both categories. But if they're in too many, we'll put it in the general category. With that being said, any brand that is sorted into either the general category or luxury category will probably not be included in any other category due to their encompassing nature and price respectively and that it would just take up space for other niche brands.

We would like to let the spotlight shine on the little or niche guys and give the audience a chance to discover newer brands.

Our rating policy

What is the purpose of the stars rating?

All listed brands - regardless of star rating - are acknowledged clothing brands and all pass the minimum qualifications to be a clothing brand. So, the average joe in his daily life would theoretically survive just fine with any of the brands. Also, please keep in mind that lower star ratings does not equate to definitely being a terrible brand - it just means that it's just not up to our standards and criteria. The stars are just a way for us at FENTRAL to express our opinion in a way that everybody can easily comprehend, you may disagree with us and that's perfectly valid as well, after all, each person is different and has different preferences. We hope that by having clear star ratings, they'll be able to help you in some way when looking for your next fashion style.

How are the brands rated?

The star ratings evaluate the brand's overall performance with the standard being different for each category. Overall arching standards include things like quality - which may differ as well, such as average quality for activewear may be different compared to the average quality of streetwear - customer reviews, design - which is different for each category - and so on. We look at the brand's pros and cons, how it stacks up to other brands, and from there, it is then given a star rating.

Are the brands compared to each other?

All brands given star ratings are being compared relative to each other, which means it's not comprehensive, so a brand in the streetwear category being rated will not be compared with a brand from the luxurywear category. We're doing this for two reasons, one, so that it'll help you as the customer to not be confused with different types of brands and understand how the brand stacks up with other similar-centric brands - hence the initial category division, two, it isn't fair and not possible to look at one type of brand and compare it to another type of brand, such as we can't rate and compare an activewear brand and a formalwear brand - it makes no sense to compare and it's a waste of everybody's time to do so.
